8K Projectors

There is a lack of 8K projectors in the world, but that will change over the next couple of years. 4K projectors should evolve in “native 8K” and that is legit. Some manufacturers are now shipping a native 4K projector that supports 8K content. That is the same fashion that numerous native 1080p projectors support 4K.

8K will be a major challenge for projector manufacturers. It means packing far higher pixel density into each chip/panel. For the next few years, expect most 8K capable projectors to be pixel-shifting 4K projectors, rather than native 8K.

INSIGHT Laser 8K

Providing an ultra-high resolution of 7680 X 4320 pixels through 37,000 lumens of solid-state laser-phosphor illumination, the INSIGHT Laser 8K is the ultimate solution for the most elaborate, medical, scientific, an immersive visualization and large-venue applications. The INSIGHT Laser 8K projector uses DLP technology. It incorporating 3 x 1.38″ DarkChip DMD and DP’s ColorMax technology to ensure superb color accuracy and black levels. These are especially vital imaging characteristics when matching projectors in tiled or blended applications.

Lamp replacements are never required due to the INSIGHT LASER 8K’s solid-state laser illumination system. By eliminating regular lamp replacement cycles, system operation is never interrupted. And with its filterless design, long-term maintenance cost is near zero. This key benefit allows the INSIGHT LASER 8K to offer a much lower cost of ownership over the lifespan of the projector. As evidence, the warranty also covers the light source for the same term as every other component in the projector.

JVC DLA-NX9M

The JVC DLA-NX9 is the world’s first 8K/e-shift home theater projector featuring a new 0.69-inch native 4K D-ILA device with a whole new external design. 8K/e-shift technology together with its 100mm diameter all-glass lens achieves 8K-equivalent resolution (8192 x 4230) that rivals reality even on large screens.

Unique Multiple Pixel Control technology converts FHD and 4K images to high-definition 8K images. Auto Tone Mapping function which automatically adjusts settings based on the mastering information projects HDR10 content at optimum quality. Combining brightness of 2,200 lm, a dynamic contrast ratio of 1,000,000:1, and wide color gamut covering beyond the DCI-P3 range, the projector faithfully reproduces the latest content including HDR10 and HLG. Renewed Clear Motion Drive together with Motion Enhance significantly reduces motion blur.
